The Peacebuilding and Civic Activism Academy was held in April and October 2024 in Ohrid, North Macedonia. The training brought together more than 24 participants from the Balkans, France and Germany, showing the youngsters’ interest in building peace and being active citizens.

The Academy creates opportunities for the participants to learn and get informed on the tools they own for acting as active citizens and being part of decision-making processes in their communities. It integrates methods used in peacebuilding alongside activism techniques, connecting theory and practice, thus fostering critical thinking, encouraging active participation, and driving social change.

The interdisciplinary nature of the Academy reflects the importance of art, advocacy, and activism, merging culture, and literature, and creating space for participants’ expression, resulting in the creation of initiatives and actions that participants implement with LOJA’s support.

The next Peace Building Academy will be opened in the period of February/March next year.
