Students’ Study Visit 2019
From 23rd until 27th of September 2019, #Center_LOJA organized a study visit in Hamburg, Germany.
Part of this visit were a group of selected students from five universities, as well as young activist from the regional training modules of #Transformers_Project – Art for Social Change!
The participants had the opportunity to visit, explore, experience and exchange with institutions, NGOs, universities, memorial sites that deal with conflict resolution, peace studies, remembrance, intercultural communication, democracy, migration and human rights in formal and non-formal education.
The focus of this study visit, “Education in the context of migration: Transforming Challenges” was an opportunity to get more knowledge on how Germany and EU deals with migration.Throughout this week the students visited the Institute for Constructive Conflict Resolution and Mediation (ikm) and explored one of the most diverse neighborhoods of Hamburg, St. Georg, where the institute is located. A guided tour through which they learned how the city of Hamburg has dealt and is dealing with migration and development. We also visited the harbor, the Erich Kästner School and the biggest library in Hamburg. To conclude this study trip we visited the association that protects the rights of minorities, especially for Roma and Sinti, as more discriminated groups.
This visit was in the frames of #CivilPeaceServiceProgram for the Future Teachers, project implemented by #Center_LOJA in partnership with K.Wustrow.
